Ovarian cysts?

How can you tell if you have ovarian cysts? And what causes them?

I have one on my left ovary found out about it a year ago since it has grown from an 1/8th of a centimeter to about the size of an apricot

I had an ovarian cyst on my right ovary a little over a year ago. One day I was sitting on my couch talking to the guy that was installing my cable , perfectly fine... When out of no where I started cramping in my lower abdomin like menstrual cramps ... They got worse that evening to the point that I was in tears , I waited two days to go to the ER where they finally told me that was what was causing the pain. I was doubled over for days in so much pain but It did however rupture and go away on its own but I did get some pain meds for the pain.
