How many ladies got a epidural to manage pain? Do you regret your decision in any way?

My husband's cousin has lingering nerve damage/pain from an epidural years ago. My hospital does hydrotherapy and I plan on just taking full advantage of that tub.

There is a risk in everything you do in life. With that being said I had an epidural with my last two pregnancies and it allowed me to enjoy the process, and didn't affect me when it came to pushing. I did a lot of kegel exercises that allowed me to only have to push twice with my second. It's all about knowing what muscles to push with to begin with. It makes for a more enjoyable labor, I think. I had the epidural with my first and regretted. I still felt all the pain and we almost lost our daughter. Her heart rate dropped so low so quick I've never been so scared. I will not be getting one with this baby. Everyone's experience is different and you have to make the choice that's best for you.

I had an epidural and no regrets. It would've been nice to be able to move around more but finally being able to get some rest made it well worth it.

I regretted it. Just like she said. The pain of the epidural was horrid. I was having one so I could be awake for an emergency csection and it didn't work so I was put to sleep and missed my son's first hour of life. And I ended up having to have a blood patch in my spine bc they let too much of my spinal fluid leak out. Most people don't have these results though. I'm not trying to scare you. Lol

Had the epidural- regretted it. The pain from the epidural getting inserted was worse than the contractions. It failed but numbed one leg so I was confined to my bed with no way to manage the pain. I've had three failed epidurals and honestly i won't be doing it again.

I didn't have an epidural but I had taken ambien 4 hrs before going to the hospital. When I was there they gave me something thru my IV to help with pain.
