Is it okay for a guy to be in a girl's bedroom?

My boyfriend and I are both 18 and in college. He lives on campus about 20 minutes away, but I'm living at home, because $$$. We have been together for almost 3&1/2 years, and my parents will not let me bring him into my bedroom. My room is kinda large, and has plenty of floor space for sitting. I also have a chair and a double bed that could fit us both comfortably without having to touch each other. My parents know we're sexually active, I've offered to leave the door open and told them we just wanna watch Netflix and read, and they know we lay in his bed all the time, but my room is apparently "sacred". I find it annoying, but I want some other ladies' opinions!
