Pediatrician?

Question

I'm not due until December but I would like to get a pediatrician set up for my son before he gets here. How did you ladies go about the selection process? I'm new to this and have no idea where to start.

I asked my dr who they recommended and she pretty much told me that they recommended any of the pediatricians from the hospital I am delivering at. I went on the website and read reviews about each one and narrowed it down to a few. I called the one I really wanted and asked if she was excepting new patients and she is! They just told me to call when baby is born and go from there. Hope this helps!

I'm pregnant with my 3rd baby and my oldest is 9...you can do research and take tours of course, BUT it won't be until you have actual doctor visits with the baby that you can really decide if you like the person/place or not. And--if you do choose someone beforehand keep in mind that if they don't have priveleges at the hospital where you deliver, they won't come to see your baby. If you aren't sure, the hospital probably has a list of available pediatricians.😀

With our first born we got recommendations from friends then toured the pediatrician office and met with the Drs.
