Having a little one that looks different from you...

So this is not meant to be offensive in any way.  I'm just genuinely curious about how other moms adjust to having little ones that look different from them.  When my son was born I was nervous he'd have blonde hair (because my HD did as a baby) and I thought "I can't imagine raising a blonde child" - mostly because everyone in my family and my husbands family is dark haired.  Not to say that I wouldn't or didn't want to, it just seemed odd to me.  I know that a lot of moms have children that don't look like them at all, and for me that has been one of the things that has bonded me to my son.  I can see my brother and my mom in him.  I think about this even more as my daughter is making her way.  Will she look like me? Or my MIL? Or SIL? Anyway, how do you girls handle this thought?  If your child did look very different from you, how do you feel you bonded with your little one?
