Cyst is a egg?

So I'm totally  confused. I had a ct scan and ultrasound at a hospital (because I was in pain) they said I have a small cyst on my right ovary. I saw my obgyn a few days later and he said "it's not a cyst it's a egg" I told him I was confused, but he didn't seem to care he just gave me a referral for a fertility clinic and he rushed out the door. Needless to say I need a new Obgyn. But can any of you ladies tell me what he might have meant by that?
