Nervous about lactation consultants

According to my doctor, my ability to breastfeed is TBD as I had a breast reduction surgery nearly 15 years ago. I'm typically not one to generalize, but I have been warned by so many moms that lactation consultants can be pushy, rude, demeaning, and will force me to continue to try to breastfeed even if it's clear that I can't or don't want to. All of these horror stories have left my fairly anxious about the experience. Anyone have any positive stories, advice, or similar concerns?
