SO during labor?

Question

How did your SO act while you were in labor? Was he freaking out? Was he helpful? Did he like staying at the hospital?

My husband was excited! He stayed by my side and loved the experience. He was so great and afterward had a present for me. Beautiful picture frame that says 'Our family is a circle of strength and love' and thanked me for our son!  This was with our first. Second baby he was away at training for the Navy during my whole pregnancy and missed the birth. His mom was there with me and he joined in on 'face time'. It was really hard without him. I'm thankful his mom was able and willing to be there. (She has 5 kids.) For this one he sent me a beautiful bouquet in a really cool glass vase that was shaped like a child's block. Blue for our second boy with a card that read, 'To my beautiful wife, thank you for being so strong.' Fingers crossed he will be there when this 3rd baby is due. (June 15) I count on his support. He is home now and doesn't plan on leaving but you never know in his position. Any who... he has been amazing during labor and we have a stronger bond because of it. :)

My wife has been so amazing during the last 14 weeks and I honestly think our relationship has gotten unbreakable during this process (not that it wasn't before!!) she has been my rock and whenever we talk about the labor she gets so excited!! I keep telling her that she isn't allowed to go down and see the baby coming out but I think she will in the moment and I won't care lol. She rubs my back and head, she works full time and then comes home and does everything around the house that I was unable to do. Last night she even told me I needed to be more selfish and if I wanted a massage to ask her for one because it's her job to make sure I'm taken care of. We already know that our birth plan will have her as the leader and I'll be shocked if she leaves the room for fear my mom will try to take over!!

My husband was a champ. He only left a handful of times to use the restroom and eat/drink. Honestly, he was never gone for more than a few minutes, poor guy. He didn't want to leave me, though. My waters broke at 4 AM and I went into active labor around noon. I gave birth just before 10 PM. He rubbed my back, ran little errands for me, held my hand, coached me through contractions, didn't flinch while holding the bowl I vomited in during transition, and he caught our son! Basically, he was amazing.

He sat there and read a book talked to me, did whatever. I was in the hospital for 7 hr before baby came. When it was time to push he was by my side. I spent 17hr of labor at home and I'm not really sure what he was doing then I had my mom with me and I was just trying to get through the back labor.

My daughter's father was there the whole time. He was calm and held one of my legs while I was pushing. He was working overnights and ended up being awake for over 24 hours because of when I went into labor. He worked on a farm so he was used to seeing a lot of things. It didn't phase him. He slept at the hospital too. I told him he didn't have to, but he chose to. My current husband may be a different story lol.

Mine rubbed my back for a while and talked to me, he then tried to sleep for a while but everything went wrong. I remember watching him looking at our babies heart rate on the monitor and it dropping lower and lower, his poor face, I've never seen him like that, it still haunts me to this day. I had people fussing around me so he sat out the way for a little bit watching the monitor, he really thought she was going to die. At the very end he took my hand andhelped  through it

Mine wasn't scared or anything. It was nice having him there both times. We just bullshitted and cracked jokes like always lol

My ex husband slept through almost all of it and yhen held my leg and cried tears of joy at the end and even touched her while she crowned and my doula at the time was three hours late. 
Thankfully i have a much more loving abd considerate partner this time and he's nut squeamish at all. I'm excited to feel loved and supported through such an exciting experience!

I wasn't sure how he would be because he is a germaphobe and not really into gross bodily function stuff. But he was awesome. He was right there by my side and helped the nurses while I pushed. He was amazing and if course cried A LOT! I didnt even cry, he did enough for the both of us. :)
