Babies weight genetics?

My boyfriend was a rather large baby when he was born. Like 8lbs I think. I was only 4 and a half /5 pounds when I was born. I really don't want a big baby. Is it a genetic thing? Am I probably gonna have a big baby? 😟

Genetics plays a small part but doesn't necessarily mean much. I was 6 lbs 1oz, hubby was 8lbs 5oz. Our 1st son was 8lbs 7oz, 2nd son was 8lbs 13oz, and 3rd son was 11lbs 7oz. Our daughter currently measures just shy of 8lbs. There are more factors at play than just genectics. :)

8 pounds is my dream!! I was 6 pounds boarder line 7, the donor we used was around 8-9 lbs.... However my entire family their first child was always 10 pounds.... It's a thing.... I've accepted that I will have a larger baby....

Biggest factor is how well your placenta does it's job.

I've always heard that baby would be more likely closer to mom's weight than dad's. However, I really think it's an old wives' tale. My hubby was nearly 10 lbs, I was almost 8 lbs, and our first was only 6 lbs 12 oz.

No nesecerily no, my partner was 10lb4 born I was 8lb5 born and our little boy was 7lb13 born :)
