You can have bleeding/spotting that someone mistakes for a period.... But your period is the shedding of the nutrient and capillary rich lining of your uterus that the placenta would attach to if you were pregnant. That's why the #1 general sure thing knowledge of pregnancy symptom is amides period. Simply put (with very,very few exceptions), you can't shed the lining if you've got a baby anchored to it (except miscarriage... But then that means your not pregnant anymore)
