Do you plan on getting your son circumcised?

Im having a very hard time with this decision. I have heard many arguments on why not to do it.. is anyone very set on doing it for any certain reasons?

I hate this conversation. I dread reading he comments. This is such a divided conversation that gets Nasty really fast.

If you're unsure of what you and your family are going to to for your son then you and your partner should do medical research. reaching out to other moms may be comforting, but it's not logical. This is a decision that every one is biased on.

I'm not having a boy, but if I was he wouldn't be circumcised, it's not a huge thing in the uk and the only people you find circumcised are medial or religious reasons. My boyfriend isn't circumcised, he has never had any problems, never had an infection and he knows how to clean it and it's never smelt, it doesn't hurt him to have sex, it doesn't effect anything :)

It's so funny to me that this is such a huge topic on here and how split it really is! Must be a regional thing. 
I live in NY and it's honestly looked at as weird if you don't circumcise. Every mom I've talked to has said they have or would circumcise and they almost give me a funny look as if that was a real question lol. So yes I'll be circumcising my baby boy period, it was never a question in my mind. And I can't tell you how many men have to get circumcised later on in life and it's much more traumatic then. Good luck in whatever you choose.

After a lot of research, my circumcised husband and I decided against circumcision for our son. Although he was raised Jewish, we aren't religious so that wasn't a good reason to circumcise. As far as medical concerns, good hygiene is a solution to most of the complaints of infection, so it's not going to be an issue if we teAch and enforce good hygiene. Lastly, we didn't feel right or comfortable, it felt honestly unnatural to make such a permanent decision for our son for something that really is cosmetic and aesthetic, not at all medically necessary. We did not want to get swept up in the herd mentality where everyone does it so it's the right decision for us.

Plus, we have THREE family friends urgently whose sons have issues with their circumcision!! One is 2.5 years and is going to be having a revision cricumcision to correct his botched one! Another 8 month old had his a few days ago and the third isn't having a revision but at 6 months is still getting infections on his circumcision site/scar and requires medicated ointment. Do your research moms!!!!
