When you're emotionally and mentally mature, are safe and responsible, use protection, and are consenting. It doesn't hurt to wait until you're older though. I wish there were more options. I'm almost 22, and even though I've been with my boyfriend for almost 4 years, I'm still a virgin. I'm very proud for waiting.

I lost mine at a young age (12). which I feel some shame about when I talk to people about it, but I felt ready and was in a relationship which at the time was loving. I wouldn't recommend anyone lose theirs as young as me, because I wasn't as ready as I thought I was but it's a personal decision and not mine to make for others.
