Am I screwed up in the head?

Don't take this the wrong way please, I LOVE my child more than anything! However, I secretly do not enjoy "motherhood" or anything about it. What's wrong with me?

No of course not I believe every mother has a moment of "what have I gotten myself into" I have a 12 yr old daughter and you're right in the age group for her to start testing your patience lol don't worry you'll get used to it

You are a mother, I am pretty sure we are all a little screwed up in the head! It's ok. My mom was literally Susie Homemaker. Me, not so much. I love my kids to death, I keep things clean and nice and do everything I can to give my kids the best childhood. But the fact is, I love to work. I don't do well as a sahm and I'm frankly dreading it after this baby comes. That doesn't make me a bad person, it's just who I am and your feelings don't invalidate you as a mother or make you a bad person either. We are not all created equal, if we were this world would be very boring.... It's a good thing for people to have different feelings, ambitions, and goals.

Some people just aren't cut out to have children. My sister being one of them. She has 2 kids 10 and 12 but has no idea how to mother them. She is lacking the mom gene that I think some of us have. I'm definitely not as into it as my mom was. She would have kept having babies forever. I'm done after this, my second.

It's just something that is not for some people. It doesn't mean something is wrong with you or that you hate your child. Raising children isn't always what every woman wants. I understand you. Things will change fast though. Before you know it, your little one will be off in school and then all grown up!!

If I could do all the cuddling and breastfeeding and laughing and have someone else deal with the diapers, late nights, and tears I would. I love my son, and I love being his mom, but there are parts I could do without.

Everyone is different but me personally I love absolutely everything about being a mummy. Sure you lead a completely different lifestyle but it's one I wouldn't trade for anything! It's all about balance.. Perhaps you just need a little time to yourself
