It will not harm the baby!! My ob recommended I get it. When you're pregnant your immune system is more susceptible to illness. And you're more likely to develop pneumonia if you get the flu.

Get it. Have yet to meet anyone in the medical field who advises against it. CDC recommends all pregnant women get it as well.

It definitely does not always prevent you from getting the flu. I've known several people who have gotten the flu right after getting the flu shot(I don't think it's a coincidence, like many people will tell you). I say read the ingredients that they put in the flu shot and then decide if you want to put that crap in your body(and your baby's body).

Most definitely.  It prevents you from getting the flu (which can be cause issues when you are pregnant) and some immunity can be passed to baby, after the baby is born.

I only get the flu shot while I'm pregnant and is highly recommended by the majority of medical professionals. When you are pregnant your immune system is compromised and you are more susceptible to contracting the flu. The flu can be fatal to you and/or your unborn baby. Plus the baby will be protected against the flu once they are born. If you do decide to get the flu shot be sure to get it at your OB's office. The flu shots for pregnant women are different for those who are not pregnant.

Weirdly enough, I've had four OBs and a midwife and I've been pregnant four times and I've never had it reccomended to me lol so i never got it! Well that and it's only a gamble that whatever strain they're vaccinating for this year will be the only one you come in contact with out of 300 possibilities. Not against it really... just never came up or seemed necessary.

My midwife suggested to get one that is preservative free at her office instead of going to a different clinic or something. I've had one before and I usually feel icky for a day or two then I'm fine and don't get sick. I'm assuming if it helps me, it will help the baby- again it's just my thoughts and opinions.

No! But just as I don't put any other medications in my body. Last year they claimed it was only 20% effective. I got flu shot in Feb, was sick with FLU from late Feb until almost 1st week of April... I will never get another flu shot EVER.
