Epidural or not?

So I was like totally sold on an epidural free birth but lately my heartburn and little cramps hurt enough to send me packing to the er to check the baby! Lol 😂I'm starting to realize I may not be built for an epidural free birth and I keep seeing horror stories of after epidurals but in reality that's super rare! So anyways how many of you are having one or not or wanna wait and see. I switch off between the 3!

Personally, I am not anti epidurals. However, I would like to try without one. Once I start going into labor, if I feel as though I need an epidural, I'll get one without hesitation. However, I feel like women's bodies were designed to be able to give birth without an epidural, so if I can do it without, I would like to try.

I want no epidural because the thought of being numb from the waist down freaks me out way more than the pain of childbirth but most likely my baby will be breech and need a c section so I am probably getting one anyways

I've done it both ways.  I actually found all natural to be way more enjoyable..crazy I know. I wasn't stuck laying in a bed not being able to move. I had an epi that didn't hardly work at all so useless in one case. I plan to go all natural again. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion and theories on the matter. Getting an epi doesn't make you any less of a woman.

Definitely whatever you want to do. I had an epidural with my first and will with my second. I feel why go through the intense pain and agony if I don't need to. It was never in my plan to try to go without one. Now, I have a couple friends who went without one and were so happy they stuck it out to the end. So it's really what works best for you :)

Ultimately it's your choice :) I wanted to go all natural but my contractions felt like someone was cutting through my stomach and twisting my insides so I decided to get one (and because I had laboured 12 hours and only got to 4 cm dilated). It was nice to lay down and rest before pushing. The epidural didn't hurt at all and sped up my labor. I was able to push with my contractions because I could still feel them (very light cramps, basically). After giving birth, my baby latched right away and I was able to get up and shower.

I'm hoping for an unmedicated birth. I see nothing wrong with a woman deciding she wants an epidural though. If you do plan to go unmedicated than you need to prepare for labor, I've had a lot of friends that said they were going to have a natural birth but they never took a class or read a book so they had absolutely no idea what they were getting themselves into and ended up getting an epidural. Do what you feel comfortable with :)

I had an epidural with my first son, it came straight out so failed to enter. The pain is so different to anything you can imagine. It's not normal pain and is somehow manageable. I'm not a huge pain fanatic but I kind of enjoyed the process of waiting for each contraction.

When I had my daughter , I tried my very best to go without one I made it to 6cm and I thought I was going to kill over. It felt like she was coming through my stomach my public area and my back at the same time lol I said give it to me !!!! And then I was A ok lol went to sleep they woke me up and said time to push ! She came out easy she did tear me In two places but I couldn't feel it and 6 years later I have no problems from the epidural .
