Prenatal classes

Mary • Married 5/26/12. Police wife. Emergency room RN.
Hey ladies!! I am 14w4d and trying to prepare for this baby because even though I feel like time is dragging by now, I'm sure with the holidays and everything I'll be 7-8 months in a blink of an eye. A little background, I am a nurse who works in an ER. I did rotations through labor and delivery and pediatrics while in nursing school, so I feel fairly comfortable with babies (I know.. I has to be so different though when it's your own baby). My husband on the other hand has had limited experience with babies. I feel like I know what to expect during labor and I have seen live births, and my husband learned in the police academy how to deliver a baby should be ever be in the situation. I feel like we need to go to the baby care class for my husband to get used to changing and swaddling, but is it worth to go to a birthing class? I also want to do a breast feeding class also.
I'm a little concerned because my husbands schedule makes him work different days each week so going to a weekly class my husband may not be able to make every class..
Did you ladies go to prenatal classes? Did you think you benefited from them?? Thanks!!
