What do you guys do when your SO has an attitude?

I tell him to check his attitude and let him cool down. I go hang out until he snaps out of it.

When he does have a 'tude he usually doesn't realize it so I give it right back. He asks what my problem is and I say "seriously?" And then it pretty much goes away. 😄

It's usually because he's having trouble articulating what's making him upset. His childhood was fairly bad, with his sister being so sick and his mother.. I can be polite when I talk about that so I won't.

So from 5th grade till he met me, he was very robotic. No friends, spoke very little, did well in school, played an hour of video games went to bed and repeated that ad infinitum. So now of he comes up on a physics problem at work, (which is rare considering that he got top honours for his mechanical engineering degree) or a bureaucratic problem, or frustrated that he can't help me heal faster from a herniated disc he gets a major case of the "cranky pants"

So I usually, give him a back rub, help him articulate the problem talk it over and then make us tea and a sweet. It helps him learn how to express what's going on if the negative is followed by the Swedish tradition of fika (like English tea time, but better, he's a bit biased as he's into Swedes and gingers and that's what I am).

Ignore or get one right along with him! I don't stand for yelling at me, screaming at me, etc!! Or he knows he'll release the devil!! And it goes both ways with the yelling an screaming! I'm thankful to have such a well raised, well mannered, and hugely respectable man!!! He respects me more than anyone ever has, perhaps more than I respect my self!!!!

I let him know he's got an attitude and to knock it off (provided it's not caused by me)
