ECV to flip baby

Has anyone ever had this done? How painful was it? And did the baby flip?  I am 36 weeks in a few days and baby has been transverse breech since before 30 weeks. I have tried the spinning babies website suggestions and I am currently trying a chiropractor. My doctor suggested doing an ECV around 37 weeks to try and flip the baby otherwise I will have to do a scheduled c section which I am desperately trying to avoid.
