It's best just to be honest. But for me, i didn't tell my mom the number one reason why I wanted birth control (which is bc I want to be prepared when I start being sexually active) , but I told her that it's because I've had periods every month since I was 9 years old ( I'm 18 now)  & I was frankly over it & tired of it. & she said okay .

Just be open with her. Tell her that you want to be responsible and get in birth control in the instance that you decide to have sex. Tell her that a child isn't in your plans right now and you want to make sure you're protecting yourself from unplanned pregnancy.
