Braxton hicks?

What do they feel like? I had some serious cramping today and am not sure if they r Braxton hicks or not!? Anyone have any descriptions!?

I'm not an expert because I'm a FTM buuut I'd say from experience they're when your belly gets really hard for a short time then just goes away. They come irregularly and some people say they're not painful but mine came with mild period like cramps.
