Extreme hair loss

I'm 7 seven weeks and I'm shedding hair like crazy. I have a lot of volume as it is and am used to some hair loss but today, in the shower, I had so many chunks come out, I freaked out asked my husband to make sure I didn't have any bald spots (even he was astounded by all of the hair in my hands). I have heard that during pregnancy the hair is supposed to get luxurious or fuller, but I'm just getting the opposite: loss of shine and a LOT of loss. Is anyone else experiencing this, or am I just a soon-to-be bald-headed freak?
