Did you do a preconception appointment?

Question

I start my last pack of birth control pills tonight! How important is it to see your doctor before TTC? I will also start taking prenatals tomorrow. I was diagnosed with pcos earlier this year so I'm not sure if that makes a difference. Is there really any additional care or advice my doc can give me? It seems pretty black and white.

For me personally my OBGYN referred me out to an RE right away. I was DX with PCOS when I was 16 and he knew he couldn't do monitored cycles like the RE at the fertility clinic could. Plus we had to go through several tests before meds were even prescribed to make sure it wasn't a waste of time or threat to my health. There are so many variables with PCOS that I would say sitting down to come up with a solid plan wouldn't ever hurt anything. I wish PCOS was easy to predict!!! Good luck to you on your journey! ✨
