I would pronounce Ariel as Air-ee-el like the little mermaid, but pronounce Arielle as R-E-L, after all it has the elle at the end.

I don't mean for this to sound rude but I don't see how most people who can read in English would mispronounce this name. They would either pronounce it AIR-ee-ell like the Little Mermaid's name or air-ee-ELL. So if one of those is the pronounciation you desire, the spelling 'Arielle' is the way to go. Of course, humans being humans, it's bound to be butchered be someone at some point, but most will get it right.
