Scheduling your labor?????

Question

Has anyone done this? My husband works hours away from our house and we are both a little concerned about him getting to the hospital on time. He would like to plan for me to be induced on my due date that way we can plan accordingly but it makes me nervous. I know nothing about being induced.

I don't know about it either but the baby can still come before your due date. My sister just gave birth to my nephew 10 days before her due date and my friend just gave birth 6 days before hers. So I'd just be prepared and talk to your doctor

I would avoid induction if possible because it leads to more complications than not being induced, and baby may not cooperate anyway. But generally you have hours or even days from when you start having contractions until the baby comes.

My first 2 were induced.  It's supposedly more painful but I have nothing to compare it to. It was nice to have a schedule. They generally won't do it until 39 weeks and they need a reason but a lot of times they will use the excuse that you have too much or too little fluid.
