Regretting having my tubes tied

Michelle
I posted this somewhere else but didn't find but one person that has went through the same thing. I am 28 ( almost 29 ) and have 2 girls, 7 and 9 ( nearly 10 ). I was going through a divorce and a very hard situation during my second pregnancy. Without researching or anything else, with the persuasion of my grandmother, I decided to have a tubal. A little over 7 years later and I'm remarried and happy...and broken. He's 27 and has 3 children that aren't living. A boy and a set of twin girls that died from being born prematurely. We plan on having a tubal reversal in March but I'm scared of possibly complications and the possibility of scarring leading to my tubes being blocked. It's depressing really :-\

Not sure if you have any religious beliefs but my suggestion is to pray and truly have faith that things will be okay. If it's meant to be, it will be. Good luck

I hope all things go well for you this time around. And not to get excited ahead of time but if the means were provided for the procedure then it's probably meant to be. 😊

I go to church and I believe in God but I wouldn't say I'm necessarily religious. I do pray and have for a while. We were going to have it done last year. We prayed for the financial means to have it done and we got nearly double what we asked for ( God is good ) My husband has been through some traumatic things and he was stressed at the time. He went through a schizophrenic episode so we called it off. We're planning to use taxes this coming year. like you said, if it's God's will for us...It'll happen. I feel like it has to be done though in order to expect anything. I altered my body in a way that God didn't intend for it to be on my own and it's up to me to change that. The rest will come.

I'm in the same predicament that you are. After being a single mom for ten years to, two boys, I decided that I wouldnt bring another child into the world, when my boys didn't even get to see their mom for more than a couple hours a night, because I was working three jobs to try and provide for them and give themthe life I didn't have. Well almost a year ltr, I met the man who was meant for me. He's just perfect for us and melted into our little family, like he was supposed to be there the whole time. I'm now married, and my husband provides for us while I stay home, he doesn't have any children of his own, and we really want to have a child together. Part of me is kicking myself for getting my tubes tied, and part of me is like, how could I have know, We have looked into a reversal, but it's almost not worth the risk. I would look into seregacy, or IVF, we have our first apt with the IVF specialist next week. I feel for you, and I'll be keeping you in my prayers. Also I dnt know if you believe in Jesus, but we do and we are trusting that his will, will be done in our situation, and I've never had more peace about a decision.

Oh, the reversal is also really expensive here too $10,000 to $15,000. We'll be traveling a few states over :-)

:-) thank you so much! Me too. My tubes were cut and cauterized as well. I had the tubal ligation the day after I had my 2nd daughter so that makes me a much better candidate for the surgery. I'm 28 and soon will be 29. My periods are fairly normal so that helps too. There are a few risks but the reversal here is $5250 and IVF starts at about $10,000-$15,000. I can't afford that for it to possibly not work out for us. I think this is our best option and I have a friend that used the same doctor and she got pregnant fairly quick. If it's not in the cards for us at least we tried. After it's done we can try as long as we need to. I hope things go great with your IVF appointment :-) no matter what steps we take our goals are the same. Some people do all that they can and still aren't successful so it's just a chance we have to take. I'll be praying for your family too Jessica ♡♡♡

It is very expensive, but that's where our faith in God comes in. I really hope and pray the reversal works for you, and you and your husband can conceive a beautiful baby.

My friend and his wife decided to have another child after 8yrs. She had undergone a tubal ligation after their second child. They went in, she got the reversal done and the doctor has checked her and said that everything looks good and that her chances are positive. This is their first month trying so I will keep you posted.
