Can I have sex at 4 weeks and 1 day postpartum?.

My midwife is very set that I shouldn't before 6 weeks. However, I'm playing it by my body so we are taking it slow.

I would ask your OB what they think. Mine was pretty clear that 6 weeks was the time frame.

Ask your doctor. I was told by a few people that the 6 week deadline was to make sure you didn't get an infection. I've heard many women use condoms and be ok.

A lot of women don't wait the 6 weeks advised by their doc.  You know your body best. If you think you're ready and bleeding has stopped its on you.

Your cervix is open for up to six weeks sex and soaking in a bath can cause infections but also your highly fertile during this time. Some woman have had sex right after how I don't know bit then ended up pregnant :p

Usually you have to be cleared by your doctor to resume sexual intercourse after having baby.. they want to make sure you are fully healed up inside & out before allowing that sort of activity..
