Hungry or just making sleep sounds?!
My nearly 3 week year old is currently sleeping in the rock and play in our room at night as I am EBF. It seems like all night long he makes lots of different sounds -some congested breathing, grunting, complaining, moaning, etc. When I wake from the sounds gradually increasing in frequency, I take it as a sign that he's hungry and ready to eat again (usually every 2 hours). I know crying is a late sign of hunger, so I've been trying to feed him before it gets to that point. Today, I've been observing him sleep and notice that he makes these sounds even when he seems to be very much asleep. Am I making myself crazy by feeding him at night too frequently?! Should I wait until he cries? Or am I doing it right and just looking for an excuse for me to get a little more sleep at a time? :)
