Cold Sores: does it affect your relationship?

Question

Having cold sores makes me personally self conscious. My SO does well to remind how attractive I am and is always honest with me about how bad it looks, if noticeable at all. Regardless, I still have a hard time looking at him or even talking to him.

Do you have cold sores? How does it affect you?

My boyfriend gets them a lot . Don't bother me a bit . He acts humiliated and won't touch me but I'll still kiss his face off

It just makes it so we don't kiss so they we don't spread it.

I never want to kiss when I have one but he's not prone to them and so never gets one too. So it's not a huge problem.

My gf and I both get them, and we have both had them our entire lives. I currently have one now actually. We don't kiss when one, or each of us have one.  We are careful to keep it from spreading and try to keep it contained to one person. Since I've been pregnant though, I've had 3 cold sores in about 3 weeks, more than I've had in the past year.

I have always had cold sores since I was a kid I get them a lot when the weather changes or I'm stressed.  My husband will joke with me about them but he never makes me feel bad about myself I've just learned to deal with them

I have one right now! I've had them since I was little, so it's normal for me. My SO doesn't get them, so the only reason I don't kiss him is because he doesn't like Carmex. I found using Carmex as my chapstick helps keep them at bay during the winter, because they don't have the opportunity to pop it. Only the plain one is medicated and specifically for them though.

We both get cold sores, I have always gotten them ever since I was little. And, he has been the same way so we are like who cares.
