College and major😩😩

So im looking for a college in california. I want to be in the crime scene unit but i read you have to be a police officer first and then apply to be in the crime scene unit. I kinda don't want to be a police officer but then again i do? I also want to be a crime scene technician but i just dont know what college to go into or what major to go to, to learn about it. I am struggling so bad i need help😭😩
