I've only heard bad things about using it. It can cause contractions but if your baby isn't ready then your contractions won't progress. There are other safer things to try besides caster oil. Try lots of sex, walking, foot zoning, nipple stimulation, pressure points on your ears. I would not go the castor oil rout. But that's just me:)

Only if you are 100% effaced and baby is ready. Castor oil is a strong laxitive that causes your bowels to go into over drive to cleanse your digestive system and if it's close for baby to wanting to come out the agitated digestive system will cause the uterine muscels to contract. You'll also have a massive case of the shits. Talk to your medical provider before doing it

I don't want ANY judgment, if you don't like that I tried it then keep it to yourself. I'm just sharing my experience with her. My friends mom did this with all 3 of her kids and it worked for her, so she asked if I wanted to try it. My baby is really low, and I was 38 weeks when I tried it. I ate then mixed it with orange juice. Then I walked up&down the road for like 30 mins. I got diarrhea one time and it did start contractions but then they subsided. So it didn't work for me. (Unfortunately) because I'm so ready to meet my baby. I'm now 38w4d and still no sign of baby 😢 it works for some and it doesn't work for others. Some doctors say its okay and some say its not. What it does is cause you to go to the bathroom a lot which is a way to start contractions. Although it only caused me to go once it may be different for you. I wouldn't try it unless you were close to your due date or over your due date.

Almost everyone poops on the table during delivery. Why would you want that to be diarrhea? Labor is tough. My first was a pain med free vaginal birth.  I wouldn't want to be shutting myself during it.

Your stomach will not enjoy it, it may cause contractions. The contractions will stop though unless you are ready to deliver. There are also some studies that show this could cause baby to also poop in Utero which is super dangerous. Don't do it.

Gag! My doctor begged me not to take it because it's a laxative and he didn't want me popping all over him. I tried it anyways and threw it up because it was so gross. Never again
