My doctor makes us wait an hour and a half for appointments. Is this normal?

Is this normal? I'm a FTM so I'm not sure how this all should or shouldn't go but I literally have to take a day off of work to see my doctor because we will wait an hour and a half each time to have her literally measure my stomach and say "ok looks great". Is this BS or is it just me? I'm 27 weeks so I feel like I'm at that point where I shouldn't change doctors but I think this is pretty ridiculous.

Same here. And it makes me mad because I can see her through the glass, and she is usually on her phone. Happened today and she was showing a whole bunch of others a video of something wayyyy more important than her patients i guess.

I'm always called in within 10 mins of checking in for my appointment. It's not fair for the dr to make you wait that long. There was only one time where I had to wait an hour and half and that's cause she was at the hospital next door delivering my baby. If it hadn't been my first 8 week check up and my husband had taken the morning off of work I would I have left.

That's a bit ridiculous. I've never waited longer than 30 minutes at my doctor's office and that was even a rare occasion, but I do go to a larger practice with 6 doctors, 4 nurse midwives, and various other nurses and support staff. I absolutely love my doctor and midwife, but if I had to wait an hour and a half, especially having to go at this stage twice a week with an NST at each appointment, I'd be very upset.

Like others have said, try to schedule the earliest appointment time you can. If you feel as if your doctor is not addressing any questions/concerns you may have, is not being comprehensive enough in your exams, or plainly doesn't value your time then switch doctors. It's never too early/too late to do that. Good luck!

My dr office is the same way, I wait forever. However, he spends the necessary time with me and doesn't rush so I am getting great treatment. I've learned to make my appt the first one of the day so he's not running behind to get to me. It's been helping.

Yesterday my appt was at 2:45. I didn't get out of there until 5!! Dr had an emergency and it pushed everything back

I wait like three hours.. The only time it goes fast is when I have ultrasounds at the hospital.. My OBs office is the worst

My doc is very prompt with seeing me. I get there a few mins early and am typically in a room a few mins before my appointments. I think having to wait in a waiting room over an hour is a bit much, but yes its normal the appointments don't take a lot of time.

While I understand the doctor has other patients and emergencies do come up but it's not fair to expect you to wait an hour and a half. My doctor has a policy that you need to call an hour before your appointment to make sure you are able to see him. Once I get to the office. The longest time I have waited is 10 minutes. I am also a daughter of a doctor and my dad does not let his patients wait so long. It's ridiculous you wait forever to see the doctor and see them for 2 minutes.

well it's never too late to switch. I guess it just depends if you like your doctor enough. I typically wait about 45 mins for my doctor but I ADORE her. She makes me feel like I'm her only patient. She never rushes me, takes her time, really knows about me and my life. BUT that causes her to run behind 😊 I don't mind. And if I know it's a day I have to bring my son with me I try to schedule earlier in the day before she gets too behind. So if you enjoy your doctor it can be worth it! If it bothers you switch!
