How long will your breastfeed for?

still nursing my 2 year old son a couple times a day, 10w pregnant with my second baby.. I just feel that the very reason I have breasts is for nourishing my children, and breast milk continues to have health benefits for humans regardless of their age (there is a fantastic article about the role of breast milk in mongolian culture, it was a real eye opener for me). I believe that my children and I will know when the time is right to stop, though I am hoping that it'll be before age 3, and mostly because I'm starting to feel like I'd appreciate it if I could get like a ten year break from ANYONE touching my boobs.

Just my opinion I repeat just my opinion here but, I would breastfeed my child at the longest 12 months. There's something about a child walking up to you and getting the boob that seems wrong to me. Or walking up and demanding the boob is just kinda strange. And teeth freak me out but hey that's just me. My hat goes off to women who do the long term breastfeeding! My mother did with me she said I was almost 2 like whaaaat?!?

My first goal is a year and then I'll see. I'll probably stop for sure around 15 months.

I'm indifferent about it. I will breastfeed as long as my body allows but at the same time, if she decides she doesn't want the milk anymore, but I still have a large enough supply, I'll probably pump for occasional milk baths and possibly even donate my supply. There's tons of babies out there who need the nourishment of breast milk but don't have the mother to provide it for whatever reason. I feel like if I have the supply, I might as well use it.

I'll try definetely no less than a year. The WHO  recommends till 2,5 years and more but I'm not sure if I can make it that far.

Planning on breastfeeding for around a year..... Maybe a little over a year but not a lot over! Once they can speak and ask for it, it's over lol

For me it depends on if it works or not. I'm a high risk pregnancy at risk for preterm labor and have been told that if my baby is born premature most likely he won't be able to breastfeed due to his size. Both y mother and SIL had that issue. My goal is to try and if it doesn't work it doesn't work.

I planned to stop at 12 months with my first...but she hated milk!!!! I mean hatted it and I enjoyed nursing. But, when I got pregnsnt with baby #2 (and didn't know for 8 weeks) my supply really went down hill and she started to wake at night and want to nurse to the point it was painful. That's when I stopped...she was 16 months. It was bitter sweet when I stopped.
