My husband has a 6 year old daughter from a previous marriage, I love her so much. We get her for the summer and have so much fun, but every time she goes back to her mother she seems so distant when it come to me. She has said that her mother doesn't let her talk about me. I'm worried about her mother also telling her my child won't be her sibling. So I'm thinking of waiting till we pick her up in May 2016 and then explaining to her before her mother can try to convince her otherwise. Also her mother has two other children so I'm sure once I can explain to my stepdaughter she'll understand, I just don't know if waiting is the right thing to do.
