Do hospitals let you wear your own

Pajamas?? My family tells me no! But people say to pack them. (I live in New York 😔)

I did for my first and will this time! The pjs are for bedtime-you don't typically get to wear your own stuff during the actual labor and delivery bc if you need surgery or a csection they need to be able to get to your body easily. I birthed my first in only a bra lol but after birth wear what you want!

Of course you can. Why would your family think you couldn't? I stayed in mine until I was allowed to shower, I was too gross to want to change before that. The only reason to wear a hospital gown for the birth is so they have access to all parts of your body at a moments notice.

I plan on buying my own hospital gown for the birth and taking my own pajamas.

After you birth you can wear whatever but until that you will be in a hospital gown

Of course. But you will probably be too sore to change right away. I wore pants and a bath robe most of the time.

I wore a nursing tank and carried a light weight house coat. It was much more comfortable than their gowns. If you choose to wear their gown ask for a nursing gown much more comfortable.  I'm thinking about finding a nice nursing night gown to wear this time around. I don't suggest pants.
