Is being induced as scary as it sounds ??

I am being induced next weekend since my little bug is nt growing qs fast as she should , and I am really scared about the whole thing . Since its my first timw having a babh and everything , idk what to think about and I'm nt trying to stress myself out . Advice anyone ???

It's not scary at all. At least I didn't think so. The best part about it is being able to schedule time off or your partner's time off, or a babysitter for older kids (I have 2 older ones). You'll be in a controlled, professional environment with people who know what they're doing. There won't be any guess work about whether or not something you're feeling is labor or not, which I find comforting. The pain is similar to not being induced. I know because I labored naturally through my first and a miscarriage, but was induced from the start with my 2nd baby. You'll be fine :)

I hated being induced. My labor was longer with my induction then my other two deliveries combined. Delivered in 3 hours with my first 5 hours with my third, induced during my second and was 16 hours. I was sick, literally threw up three times and was just miserable.

I don't think it was that bad. My water broke and at about 10pm got induced and almost 2pm I had him

Yes it's bad. You'll get through it alive though! You can always take an epidural if it gets too intense. I was induced with my first for the same reason IUGR and was in labor 36 hours. The doctors said this was normal for induction and to expect a min of 12-36 hours of labor. I was at the extreme end but maybe you will only get the 12 hour kind. Also depends on how dilated your cervix is when you're admitted. I was at 2 cm and didn't progress until 24 hours later to about 6cm. I had to get max dosage of cervidil to prime my cervix
