Have peoples missed the point of Controversy Corner?

In your opinion, have people missed the point of what Controversy Corner is about? To me, it seems to be the dumping ground for EVERYTHING - people treating it like Facebook, people coming for support etc. They then get annoyed of people don't respond with all sweetness and light! I mean come on! Controversy Corner is about CONTROVERSY and debate!
Personally I don't want to see you  bump pics or announcements (post those in the right room!) and I do the much care for hearing about how shitty your BF/SO baby daddy is.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way....

Let's just keep Controversy Corner controversial.
