I had an ex spend the night at my house. It had been a decade since we dated. My boyfriend, now husband, didn't even care because he trusted me and had met my ex and trusted him too. He was in town for a concert and was looking to save money so I welcomed him to sleep on my couch. Nobody made a pass. All was well. My now husband totally showed faith in me and my judgment and I appreciated that.

Of course, everyone's situation is different. Hopefully your partner trusts your judgment and you trust his.

Depends on the people involved. If I had a good ex who I was friends with and my BF couldn't get me I'd let him know and he'd say okay. 
But I have an abusive jackass ex so I wouldn't ask and he'd say no if I did (smart decision). What works for one couple isn't another's cup of tea

The ex you described not okay at all. But i have an ex who is still one of my best friends and my fiancé knows that my ex and i have no interest in eachother now so if i wanted to go sleep over his place i could because we would just be hanging out with a few other people and my fiancé trusts me
