i have. four years by a 'family member', from 6 years old to 10 years old. i dont think i've moved on from it properly but i can finally talk about it without it badly affecting me. i used to have nightmares a lot, couldnt get changed unless i was alone (like for classes at school), refused to do anything intimate with anyone for 8 years after it stopped.
i kept it a secret until i was 18 when i broke down and told my ex after he tried 'touching' me (not his fault, i initiated it and then froze up). he held me as i cried, telling me over and over that he was so sorry and he would only ever do anything i was completely comfortable with. a few months later, he was the first person i did anything sexual with after it. so for that, i will always love him.
im now 21 and have an extremely high sex drive (which i heard can be because of it, im not certain though), i would have sex everyday if my husband wanted to! but i dont sleep around because im married... if i wasnt married, it might be a different story.

There r many effects from being s abused..  Self esteem.  Compulsive habits like stealing.  Ocd.  Nightmares.  Panic disorder.  A sex drive that wont stop when u know it would be best to.  Social skills off the wall... People dont get u they dont understand.  Ur gestures dont match up with ur feelings.  U feell things like dirty.  Or u think everyone u meet must b checked thouroly in case they r a petiphile.  Trust after abuse is about obsolete and thats why there needs to b more speaking up about it.  Families shouldnt b leaving there loved ones because they dont know how to handle there loved one being abused

I don't really. If something reminds me of it I lose it. Nightmares have been less frequent over time though.

I have, I don't remember it at all, I don't have "flashbacks" or anything.i don't know when or  I don't know by who because my brain has blocked me from those memories. I do have "dead zones" though, where I can't feel, like when I get out of the shower I don't realize those spots aren't dry, because my body realizes those spots are from a bad time and just doesn't recognize it as my body part. And I do have a hard time having sex, with my boyfriend because sometimes I just fear it. At first I didn't know why, but now I do and it's because of my past.

I have... And it sort of still continues... He comes in every now and again but not as often as when i was younger... Its wrong.... And i said that but he denied everything... I havent told anyone....

I have, by my brother when I was 8-9 years old. I'm trying to forgive, and its really helping my PTSD and talking about the disgusting details helps aswell. It's hard, but I'm getting better.
