Possibility of twins?

So my father is an identical twin and then my grandmother on my mom's side is an identical twin. What are the odds that I may conceive twins? I have my first appt with my doctor in 2 weeks!

Fraternal twins are the only type with a genetic component, and is passed down on the mothers side - hyper ovulation, or the release of more than one egg during ovulation. Identical twinning is a fluke of nature, and is not inherited. :) Hope that helped.

So my maternal grandmother is a fraternal twin but my father is an identical twin so I suppose there's a small chance that could have been passed to me from my mother's side

Identical twins aren't genetic. Fraternal are though. Identical twins can happen for anyone.
