HELP!!! Constipated :(

My doctor prescribed me polyethylene glycol (generic form of Miralax) before I got pregnant. Is this safe for me & baby to take for constipation? I've been backed up since Thanksgiving---5 days and counting. I forgot to call my doctor today. Any suggestions will help!
