Do membrane sweeps hurt ?

I'm 37 weeks and 4 days and next Monday I'll be getting check for dilation and effacement but thinking about getting a membrane sweep ?

This time mine didn't hurt but it also didn't work :( with my 5th it hurt like a bitch but I was in labor couple hours later so idk maybe we should want it to hurt lol

I just had mine done today i am 39 weeks 2 days 4cms dilated and almost 90% effaced and it really didnt hurt i was talking the entire time, it felt like a normal cervix check to me. And it has helped my body get going with contractions!  Cant wait to meet my baby!

Why get so early?? My doctor said they won't even think about that until 39 weeks because you are not full term until then.

My first with my first son hurt so bad. I got it to early and I screamed f**k in the doctors office 😬😬😬 at 39 weeks and 4cm it hurt still but not as bad!

Point I think is that we are all different and we all take pain differently I didn't have one but I heard they are good :) u have to experience it for yourself to know !!!

I'm 39 weeks and 2cm. Had it done yesterday and it hurt...contractions and mucus abd blood. But still no baby. First baby it worked in 12 hours....

I had one today at 38 weeks exactly.. And it was bloody forceful! She nearly knocked me off the bed I didn't find it comfortable at all. My cervix was open low and soft and could feel head easily though nothing has happened since.... Not sure how long these things take if they are to work at all

I've had 3 this week and the first was the easiest! If you can have a baby you can get through that! The third was definitely the worst

It depends on the amount of pressure you can take down there. Open your legs as wide as possible with your feet together. You're going to feel everything, very uncomfortable.
