Anybody planning a home birth?

Question

I don't like hospitals and I'm very set on giving birth at home! 
Anybody else is planning on a home birth?

We're planning a home birth, despite generally negative feedback from family. I feel like giving birth is viewed as a medical emergency instead of a natural process these days, and it's unfortunate. Granted, in the event of an emergency of course I'm glad to know my home is only 10 minutes from a hospital, but as easy as this pregnancy has been I see no reason to go into labor assuming the worst. You do you, I've heard dozens of amazing home birth stories. If you think that's what you want then I say stick with it :)

As long as you're low risk and there's a hospital pretty close by and you have a well trained birth attendant, home birth is pretty safe. I wish I could, but I get a hospital birth for free and a home birth would cost me a few thousand, and I don't really have a good place to deliver the baby anyway.

I really want to, but my hubby is completely against it. I live in a state where it is illegal for a midwife to attend a home birth and there are no birthing centers anywhere nearby. So my only option is a hospital birth or a completely unassisted home birth. And I don't like either option. If I lived closer to the hospital I would be more comfortable with an unassisted birth but it's a 20-30 minute drive for us. So I'm probably going to have to have another hospital birth. Good luck with everything.

I'm doing a birthing center, it is actually inside of a hospital in case of emergencies. So I'm comfortable with that! I live in an apartment and it's so small and since I'm not comfortable here now I really wouldn't want to be giving birth in here or disturbing the neighbors
