Breast feeding?

Ok I have heard that breast feeding is extremely painful, I have read some women's nipples bleed and the baby ends up spitting up and it having blood in it because of her nipples bleeding, I have read where one women cried and had to squeeze her husbands hand just to get through the pain and honestly it's terrifying me! Please tell me it's not as horrific as they made it out to be?!?! I really want to breastfeed when my baby comes but reading those things kinda makes me want to run from it.

I honestly had no pain at all when bfing my daughter. It took one month for her to latch on correctly, so  during that month we practiced with the breast and I supplemented with a bottled of pumped milk.  Neither pumping nor the actual feeding ever caused me any pain, so there is definitely hope 😊. Just give it a shot, and if it isn't for you, then there are a lot of great formulas out there, and that's okay too!

Everything is different for everyone! I never experienced pain while breastfeeding (unless I was too full of milk lol) just because it can be difficult doesn't mean it will be for you. Just try it, and if its not for you, move on :)

It's really not that bad.  At first it can cause you to be a little sore but if you do some research or meet with a lactation specialist you can manage any problems you may have.  I breastfed my first until 20 months and can't wait to breastfeed my 2nd.  It's such a amazing bond and way easier than lugging around and cleaning bottles!

It was never ever painful with my son. I've heard that if you're bleeding or if it's painful somethings wrong, like the baby isn't latching right or something. It's not supposed to be painful. Try it, and if it's painful get it checked out! They'll help you at your dr office!!

Breastfeeding shouldn't hurt! If it does then something is probably wrong with the baby's latch. Pain when nursing is a reason to call a lactation consultant and get help. 
Dry nipples can cause pain but can be prevented with lanolin cream. Engorgment can also cause pain, sometimes you may need to hand express or pump a bit. 
But if you are in that much pain you should call and talk to a professional! It is not normal and a sign of a bad latch (or a tounge tie)

I've successfully breastfed 5 babies so far. There is some pain at first. I'd compare it with a pair of difficult shoes that just don't want to break in for the first week or so. Your nipples have to get used to it, and it just takes some time. 
I've never experienced cracked or bleeding nipples. Keep them moisturized with whatever you find works for you (coconut oil, Lasinoh, etc).
Everyone's pain tolerance is different, so don't let the fear dominate your thoughts. If we did that, who would even get pregnant in the first place??

Same here. My first children were formula fed due in part to no one in my family had ever breastfed and because of friend I seen who breastfed had such a hard and painful time with it. I'm pregnant with #3 I'd like to try breastfeeding but not if it's going to be so painful I dread feeding my baby. My youngest is also currently 19 months and I don't want it to be to time consuming that she thinks I'm ignoring her as well.
