Bacterial vaginosis?

Ok so TMI
I think I have bacterial vaginosis, after I had sex with my partner on Sunday there's been a horrific fishy smell down below. Discharge is white. I've never experienced this before and it happened pretty much straight away. We are both clean for stis and stds. It says you will normally need a course of antibiotics however I have no time off for the next 2.5 weeks and currently not under a doc as I've just moved. I have a whole pack of flucloxacillin, do you think this will work in clearing it?

I doubt that will work. You need to go to the Dr and get on the right meds....until you do you'll stink.. Sorry. Been there a few times. Me and my bf had to get treated 4 times before we fully were clear.

You should definitely see a doctor to confirm what you may have. Do not take old medications, first because they have an expiration date and they may not be sensitive to what kind of infection you have. Also, the dose is not calibrated to treat that particular infection. Taking a med like that can either cause you to take more than needed, which can hurt the good bacteria in your vagina and the rest of your body, or you may not have enough of a dose to actually kill the bacteria. A doctor will take a sample and culture the bacteria so they can determine what medication to give you. If you have a clinic like Planned Parenthood or something similar near you, they can treat and test you with no need for a primary care doctor. Waiting to treat an infection can cause it to spread through your body to other places, like your uterus and ovaries, or into your urethra and into your bladder or kidneys. This can cause permanent damage and you do not want to risk this. And usually this kind of infection can be resolved with a two week course of antibiotics, and you will have no lasting side effects from the meds. Do the safe thing and take a few hours off from work.

I've had that and the smell happens after sex or after a shower it's like a fishy smell. I went to the doc they gave me this nasty pills clear it out very well. That happens when your Ph balance leave your body the good Bacteria your body Needs.. But since you can't get to the doc for now stay away from sex drinks as much water you can & eat fruit and veggie & do NOT WASH INSIDE YOUR VAGINA.. Woman's think that's the best thing to do its not ! That get rid of the ph balance ! I know how uncomfortable it can be ! So take care and try and ton the doc when you can

Especially if you have no time to take off, I would try to be seen by someone right away even if it means using urgent care or the emergency room. Having old antibiotics laying around can sometimes delay the symptoms for a few days, but if you don't have a complete regimen to take, or the medication is old, the infection could come right back worse than before.

I get it from time to time. It just happens sometimes unfortunately. The med you mentioned is used for bacterial infections so it will probably work but of course it's always recommended to see a doc before taking any prescription meds. You could always try the monistat 3 day

You can order vitamins online to help treat and prevent future infections. It's about 60$ for those. I've had it quite a few times. Each time the doctor gives me metronidazole.
