Ovulation test question

Nicole
Has anyone had issues with ovulation tests? I take them the day before Glow says it's my fertile week and nothing so far. Tomorrow starts my green week but last month as it got further into my green week the line got lighter (even at its darkest it wasn't even close to the control line.) According to Glow my most fertile day there was no line at all. One month my period came a day earlier than Glow predicted (I have been using this app since July and posted periods as far back as February with data from my old app.) This last month my period was about 8 days late. So I started with the ovulation tests again today. Not sure if it is because I am buying the cheap Target brand or what. Should I start testing the day after my period or maybe keep testing after Glow says my green says are over? At $11 for 7 I hate to waste money and $33+ is a lot to spend on something I pee on and throw away... lol! Any advice would be great. Just a bit of background I am 34 and TTC my first child, just started trying in September, Had a MC at the age of 19, always had irregular cycles, temperature taking does not work for me with my inconsistent work schedule, and I really don't understand the whole CM thing. These I tried to rely on Glow, but when that failed I bought the ovulation tests.
