Can you refuse to be cut??

Im sorry, I don't know the word to it but can you refuse to be cut when delivering??

You will heal way faster if they do not cut you. A natural tear is a natural thing that heals faster then when it's forced.

As far as I'm aware yes you can but it is silly.. they cut you fkr a very good reason. Having a clean nick over a hectic tear is something i would rather anyday!

Tug on a paper and see what it takes for that to rip. Put a 1 inch snip in the top middle of the same paper and see how much easier it is to rip. Don't let them cut you, you will rip more then you need to.

Where I live they won't snip unless absolutely necessary. They feel that if you tear naturally it will tear along the same line if you have another child. Less scar tissue all over the place.

I guess you can ask that they don't, but if it's a situation where they have to for you or the baby's safely and wellbeing they likely will do what they have to do. I didn't want an episiotomy either but my sons heart rate dropped and he was so close but wasn't coming out fast enough so he did one to help give him room to get him out quicker. It wasn't what I had hoped, but it was for my sons wellbeing. They also almost used forceps, but I managed to get him out myself quick enough.
