Taking pump to hospital?

I am having a csection on Monday at 37 weeks due to a velamentous cord insertion/growth restriction. This is my second child, but I strictly formula fed my first. I have decided to breastfeed this baby or strictly pump, depending on how everything goes. My question is should I bring my pump and supplies to the hospital? Will they bug me about breastfeeding if I decide to only pump? Any advice? Thanks in advance.

I didn't take mine to the hospital because I wanted to learn how to breastfeed. Pumping looks easy and I could contact a lactation consultant again later for assistance if needed.

Also, check with your insurance. They are offering me a free hospital grade breast pump to keep for free. I had an Avent pump but the lactation consultant said the Ameda one thet were providing was much stronger and faster.

I had brought my pump with me to the hospital. I tired breastfeeding and my son was not having it so I did end up pumping and feeding. Plus, with c section you tend to be in the hospital longer so if you have the intention to give your child breastmilk I would suggest. Plus, staff can show you how to use it.

I breastfeed at home and pump at work and I brought my pump to the hospital because I was hoping the lactation consultant would teach me how to use it. She did, so I was glad I brought it. Also, since mine is a Medela and that was what they had at the hospital, she gave me spare parts for it that I would have otherwise needed to buy. So it totally paid off. Nobody was pushy about not pumping or anything.
