I've been told to try and keep my hear rate under 140, I have a fitness watch so I used it to make sure that when I exercised it was under 140. I was also told to avoid jumping, running and other high impact activities. But cardio like elliptical or bike is fine so is lifting moderate weights. I used to go for a 4 mile walk instead of a run. I just take my dog with me and go at an upbeat pace with a target hear rate of 110-130 depending if it's uphill or downhill.
