Blood test to find out gender early?

Has anyone heard of having a blood test at or around 10 weeks to find out the gender? It's supposed to be around 98% accurate.

I want to do it because I think the same test tests for genetic abnormalities but I always imagined the scene where my husband and I are with the ultrasound technician and she tells us the gender - seeing it in some lab work print-out isn't as exciting for some reason!!

I got it done with both of our kids, and plan on getting it with Baby K (due August 10th)!! It's completely accurate and worth it to know so much. My insurance completely covers it, most do. It's an added test to the MT21, or first trimester screening, bloodwork.

I think my cousin is actually getting this done..she'll be 10 weeks next week. Earlier today was the first time I ever heard of it!

My friend had it. Her insurance didn't cover it so it cost $500 but she was able to talk them down to $300. It's not worth it at 13 weeks some ultrasound places will tell you the gender and you get pictures too for about $100.
