FTM..what do I need??

Question

Everyone has been telling me not to buy too many newborn clothes, but then I hear stories about babies having diaper blow outs and needing multiple changes through out the day. How many newborn clothes should I buy???

Depends on size of baby. Some babies are born and they don't fit in newborn clothes and have to wear 3 months right away.

My kids were all less than 7.3 and they were outta newborn in like a month, it depends on laundry and how much u wanna do I kept my kids in the same rotating outfits that was my favorite so I prob had like 20 nb outfits bit laundry 2-3 times a week  about 3 a day is good :)

Secondhand stores have nice newborn baby clothes probably because they don't get a lot of use. I got a few in advance and then when I had my baby and knew I'd need that size for a bit, got a few more. In general I thought I had to be 110% prepared for baby but then learned that sometimes you just want to get things as you need them.

Get clothes that will be a little bit too big that way bub will grow into them and it won't be money wasted, and they will be comfortable not fitted clothes. Also lots of singlets and bibs!! And flannels can never have too many of them around

I was 9lbs 9oz when I was born and expected a large baby so I only bought a few newborn outfits. Well my LO was only 7lbs 11oz and is just growing out of newborns at 5wks. I had to go out and buy more onsies and none of her going home outfits fit it was hard getting her into her carseat because the clothes were to big.

Both my boys were big babies (and other both came at 38 weeks). My first was 8lbs 2.3 oz and my second was 9 lbs. (both vaginally!). We didn't need many newborn outfits. Mostly 0-3 months. I'm really praying for a petite little girl this time 😉

I have been told the same thing. But i think it's ok to buy some. Because they are tiny for a bit.

It really depends on the size they are when born. My baby girl was 6 pounds when she came home and nothing for her. She was in newborn for 6/8 weeks!

Depends. I buy bigger size clothes because they grow so quickly! By the first month my kids were wearing almost 3 month size clothes.
